MIKE FLORAK has seen all sides of the athletic recruiting process. He was a three-sport athlete in high school and drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He also attended Ohio University on a baseball scholarship.
After his playing career ended, he worked in college athletics for eighteen (18) years as an Athletic Director, Sports Information Director, and Coach.
Mike spent thirteen (13) total years as a college head coach. He coached at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels. Twice his teams had the highest grade point average in their league, and he coached a total of forty (40) players who were drafted/played professional baseball, including four (4) major leaguers. He has devoted his life to higher education, also working as an Academic Counselor and a Professor of Communications for nineteen (19) years at four different colleges.
Mike says, “There is little credible information for student-athletes, their families, and their coaches regarding the college selection process. I want to share my experiences with as many people as possible so they can reap the benefits of being a college athlete.”
